Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: August 2, 2026

This policy applies to everything you buy from BTGO LLC (“BTGO,” “we,” “us”), also known as Been There Got Out. It forms part of our Terms of Service and Coaching Services Agreement.

We’ve tried to write this in plain language. If anything is unclear, email [email protected] and ask.

The short version

What you bought Can you get your money back?
Coaching sessions & packages No — but sessions never expire, so you keep them indefinitely, and you can donate unused ones.
Premium Support Membership Cancel anytime. No refund for the current period; you keep access until it ends.
Courses Yes — 30-day guarantee. Do the first part of the course; if it didn’t help, we refund you in full.
Books Through Amazon, under Amazon’s policy.

1. Coaching sessions and packages

Your sessions never expire. This is deliberate. The situations our clients face don’t resolve on a schedule — it’s common for someone to work with us, go quiet for a year or three, and come back when their ex creates a new problem. Your unused sessions will be there when you need them. There is no deadline and no expiration date.

Because sessions never expire, session and package purchases are non-refundable. You haven’t lost anything — your sessions are still yours whenever you want them, with no deadline.

If you don’t expect to use your remaining sessions, consider donating them. You can ask us to give your unused sessions to another client who needs help and can’t afford it. Many of the people we work with are in real financial distress, often as a direct result of financial abuse. If you choose that, we’ll put your sessions to good use. Donated sessions can’t be reclaimed later.

And if something has gone wrong, talk to us. We look at every situation individually. We can’t promise any particular outcome, but we have never wanted anyone to feel stuck with us, and we would much rather hear from you than not. Email [email protected].

2. Scheduling, cancellations, and no-shows

Cancel or reschedule any time before your appointment’s scheduled start. Please do it as early as you can — we hold that time for you, and other clients are waiting.

No-shows. You get one free no-show per package. A “no-show” is a missed appointment you didn’t cancel or reschedule. After the first, we count the missed session as used.

If we cancel. If we cancel or reschedule on you, you lose nothing — your session stays in your account. If we ever have to end an engagement for reasons other than your conduct, we refund what you paid for your unused sessions in full.

3. Premium Support Membership ($47/month)

How it starts. If you buy a coaching package, you get a 30-day free trial of the membership. At the end of the trial it becomes a paid subscription at $47/month, charged monthly, until you cancel. You’ll see this disclosed before you buy, and you have to agree to it.

Cancel any time. No notice period, no cancellation fee, no phone call, no talking to anyone. Cancel from your account dashboard, or email us and we’ll do it.

Cancel during the trial and you are never charged. You keep the membership benefits for the remainder of your 30 days.

Cancel after that and your membership stays active through the end of the billing period you’ve already paid for. We don’t pro-rate or refund a partial month.

We don’t charge for months you didn’t know about. If you find you’ve been charged for a membership you thought you’d cancelled, or you genuinely forgot you had it and haven’t used it, tell us and we’ll sort it out. We’d rather do the right thing than keep money someone didn’t mean to spend.

Price changes. If we ever change the membership price, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before it takes effect, and you can cancel before it does.

4. Courses

We stand behind our courses, and we’ll prove it.

If you complete the course and genuinely don’t get value from it, we’ll refund you. Here’s what we ask:

Within 30 days of your purchase, if you’ve worked through at least the opening portion of the course — the exact lessons are listed for each course in our Course Terms — and you still don’t think it was worth it, email us at [email protected], tell us what didn’t land, and we’ll refund you in full.

We ask you to do the work first for a simple reason: this material only helps if you actually use it. We’re not interested in keeping money from someone we didn’t help — but we can’t help someone who didn’t open the course.

After 30 days, or if you’ve downloaded substantially all of the course materials, course sales are final.

What we’ll ask for: just tell us what you tried and what didn’t work. We’re not going to make you jump through hoops, and honest feedback makes the course better.

5. Books

Our books are sold through Amazon and other retailers. Returns and refunds go through whoever you bought from, under their policy. We can’t refund a book we didn’t sell you.

6. Chargebacks — please talk to us first

If something’s wrong, email us before you dispute a charge with your bank. We’re two people and we answer our own email. Nearly everything gets resolved faster and better in one message than through a bank dispute that takes months.

If you file a chargeback without contacting us first, we may suspend access to your account and services while the dispute is open.

7. How refunds are paid

Approved refunds go back to the original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days of approval, though your bank or card issuer may take longer. We can’t refund to a different card or account.

8. If the law gives you more

Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under consumer protection law that can’t be waived. If you live somewhere that gives you a statutory right to cancel or a right to a refund beyond what we’ve described, that right applies and this policy doesn’t override it.
