Course Terms

Last updated: August 2, 2026

These terms apply to every online course sold by BTGO LLC (“BTGO,” “we,” “us”), also known as Been There Got Out. They work alongside our Terms of Service, Refund & Cancellation Policy, and Privacy Policy. On course questions, these terms control.

Each course has its own specifics — price, access period, and guarantee — set out in Section 10.

1. What you’re buying

A licence to access and use an online course for your own personal use. You’re buying access to educational material, not a service, a consultation, or a promise of any result.

What’s included varies by course and is described on its sales page and in §10. Where a course includes live elements — group calls, office hours, Q&A — those are provided on a reasonable-efforts basis and their schedule may change.

2. Access

When it starts. Immediately on purchase, unless the course is on a scheduled or staged release, in which case the sales page will say so.

How long it lasts. See §10. Where a course is described as lifetime access, that means for as long as we continue to offer the course.

If we retire a course. We’ll give you at least 90 days’ notice by email and, where we can, make the materials available to download before access ends. If we retire a course within 12 months of your purchase, we’ll refund you a fair proportion of what you paid.

Your account is yours alone. One person, one login. Don’t share access.

3. Our guarantee

We stand behind our courses, and here’s how we prove it.

Within the guarantee window shown in §10, if you’ve worked through at least the portion of the course listed there and it genuinely hasn’t helped you — email [email protected], tell us what didn’t land, and we’ll refund you in full.

Why we ask you to do the work first: this material only helps if you use it. We’re not interested in keeping money from someone we didn’t help. But we can’t help someone who never opened the course.

What we’ll ask of you: just tell us honestly what you tried and what didn’t work. No forms, no hoops, no arguing. Your feedback makes the course better.

After the guarantee window closes, course purchases are final. The same applies if you’ve downloaded substantially all of the downloadable materials.

One guarantee per person, per course.

4. What a course is not

It isn’t legal advice, and we aren’t attorneys. Our courses are education. They don’t tell you what to do in your case, they don’t create an attorney–client relationship, and they’re not a substitute for a lawyer licensed where you live.

It isn’t therapy, and we aren’t licensed mental health professionals.

It isn’t a guarantee of any outcome. Family court results depend on facts, law, judges, and people outside anyone’s control. Nothing in a course predicts or promises what will happen in your case.

It isn’t personalized. Course content is general and written for a wide audience. Your situation has details we don’t know about. Where something matters, check it with your own attorney or therapist.

Nothing you share with us is privileged. If a course includes live sessions, community features, or the chance to send us a question, remember: we’re not attorneys or therapists, so there’s no privilege, and what you share may be discoverable. In a group setting, other participants hear it too. See our Coaching Services Agreement for the full explanation.

5. What you may and may not do with the material

You may: use the material for your own situation, download anything we’ve made downloadable, and keep your own notes.

You may not:

Everything in a course — video, audio, text, worksheets, templates, frameworks — remains our property. You’re buying a licence, not ownership.

If you breach this section we may terminate your access without a refund, and we may pursue whatever remedies are available to us. We take this seriously: our courses are the work of years, and unauthorized copies directly harm the people we’re trying to reach.

6. Live sessions and community features

Where a course includes group calls, office hours, or a community space:

Confidentiality between participants. Other people are discussing active custody disputes, abusive relationships, and their children. Don’t share, repeat, record, screenshot, or post anything another participant says, or their identity, outside the session. This continues after the course ends.

No recording. You may not record a live session. If we record one, we’ll tell you in advance.

Conduct. Be respectful. We may remove anyone — from a session or from the course — for abusive, harassing, or disruptive behavior, or if they appear to be there to gather information about another participant.

Limits. We facilitate; we don’t run group therapy. Other participants aren’t professionals, and what suits their case may be wrong for yours.

7. Changes to a course

We may update, improve, or reorganize a course. Usually you’ll simply get the improvements at no cost.

If we make a change that materially reduces what you bought, we’ll tell you, and if you’re within your guarantee window you can take the refund.

8. If we end your access

We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, share your access, or behave abusively toward us or other participants. No refund is due where we terminate for cause.

9. Everything else

Our Terms of Service applies in full, including limitation of liability, indemnity, governing law (Connecticut), and binding arbitration with a class action waiver and a 30-day opt-out — with the consumer carve-out for those outside the US.

If you’re a consumer in the EU or UK: you have a statutory right to cancel a distance purchase within 14 days. Because a course is digital content delivered immediately, you’ll be asked at checkout to consent to immediate access and to acknowledge that you lose that cancellation right once access begins. Our guarantee in §3 is separate, and more generous — it still applies.

10. Course schedule
